terms and conditions

alia is operated by Bentleigh Hills Pty Ltd (ABN 26 616 219 991), trading as ALIA Fragrances, of Ste 12, Level 4/150 Albert Rd, Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia. in these terms, "alia", "we" and "us" mean that entity. "you" means the person placing an order or using the site.

our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. nothing in these terms, or in any other policy on this site, limits or removes those guarantees. where these terms and the law differ, the law applies.

an order is an offer to buy. it becomes a contract when we accept it, which happens when we send the dispatch confirmation, not when you pay. we may decline or cancel an order before dispatch, for example where a product is unavailable, a price was listed in error, or we suspect fraud. if we do, we refund you in full to your original payment method.

you must be 18 or older to order, and give accurate details. we are not responsible for delays or loss caused by an incorrect address you supplied.

some products are offered for pre-order before they are ready to ship. a pre-order is a firm order with an estimated dispatch date. the estimate, when payment is taken, how we tell you about any delay, and your right to cancel are all set out on the shipping and pre-orders page, which forms part of these terms.

all prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. shipping is shown separately at checkout before you pay. we may change prices at any time, but not for an order we have already accepted.

payment is processed by [payment provider, e.g. Shopify Payments]. we never see or store your full card details.

if a price on the site is clearly wrong, we may cancel the order and refund you, even after payment, provided we have not yet dispatched it.

delivery times are estimates, made in good faith and on reasonable grounds. they are set out on the shipping page. risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave.

your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods, and our change of mind policy, are on the returns and refunds page, which forms part of these terms.

scent is personal. how a fragrance develops on your skin depends on your chemistry, and it will not be identical to how it wears on another person or how it is described in words. descriptions of notes and moods are there to guide you, not to promise a result.

colours on screen vary between devices, and bottle and packaging images are representative. the ingredients, directions and warnings for each product are on the ingredients and safety page and on each product page. please read them before use.

the words, photographs, film, names and designs on this site belong to alia or are used with permission. you may look at them and share links to them. you may not copy, scrape, reproduce or sell them without our written consent.

you agree not to interfere with the site, attempt to gain access to systems you are not authorised to use, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.

we try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be free of errors or interruptions.

to the extent the law allows, alia is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or a product. nothing in this clause limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law, including your rights where a product is not of acceptable quality.

we may update these terms. the version in force when you place an order is the one that applies to it. these terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts there.
