ingredients, directions and safety

ingredients are listed using their INCI names, in descending order by mass, as the Australian standard requires. ingredients present at less than one percent may appear in any order after those above one percent. fragrance allergens are called out individually beneath each list so that anyone with a known sensitivity can check before buying.

the same lists appear on each product page. if a formulation changes, the lists here and on the product change with it, and the batch number on your product identifies which version you hold.

• perfume oil: apply a small amount to pulse points, the wrists, the neck, behind the ears. warm between the wrists rather than rubbing. [confirm directions]
• fragrance powder: apply sparingly to dry skin with the puff or fingertips. do not apply to the face. [confirm directions and applicator]
• extrait de parfum: spray once or twice from about fifteen centimetres onto skin or clothing. extrait is concentrated; less is enough. [confirm directions and number of sprays]

these apply to every alia product:

• for external use only
• avoid contact with the eyes. if contact occurs, rinse well with water
• do not apply to broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin
• discontinue use if irritation or a rash appears
• keep out of reach of children
• store below 30 degrees, away from direct sunlight

in addition:

• extrait de parfum is flammable. keep away from heat, sparks, open flame and hot surfaces. do not spray near a naked flame or while smoking. do not spray toward the face or inhale the mist.
• fragrance powder: avoid inhalation. do not apply near the nose or mouth, and keep away from infants and young children, who should not be exposed to loose powder.
• perfume oil may stain fabric. allow to absorb before dressing.
• some fragrance ingredients can increase sensitivity to sunlight. [confirm whether any product contains photosensitising ingredients such as bergamot oil, and if so add: avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight]

our fragrances contain naturally occurring and synthetic aroma ingredients, some of which are recognised allergens. if you have a known fragrance allergy, check the list for each product below. if you are unsure, apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours before wider use. if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care for a skin condition, speak with your doctor before use.

every alia product carries a batch number. it links your bottle to the formulation, the production run and its date, so that if we ever need to contact owners of a particular batch we can. keep your box, or note the number, until you have finished the product. product recalls, if ever needed, are notified through productsafety.gov.au and directly to customers whose orders we can identify.

cosmetic labelling and product safety in Australia are regulated by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission under the Consumer Goods (Cosmetics) Information Standard 2020. the ingredients themselves are regulated by the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme. alia products are cosmetics, not therapeutic goods, and make no therapeutic claims.
